Eternal Perspective
Thank God for eternal life
on sad occasions like this.
We know that we will once again
hug that loved one we miss. ¹
This dear one was God’s child,
through believing in God’s Son. ²
Christ paid the debt they owed. ³
So, now their forever has begun. ⁴
And, if their legacy in life
was less than perfect or “fine,”
Jesus will sort through all that
with judgment both fair and kind. ⁵
Any compassion shown to others,
plus, every kindness and sacrifice,
in Heaven, will be rewarded. ⁶
May this comfort to us suffice.

If you aren’t sure there is a God, a place called heaven, or a kind and fair judge who will examine our life after we die, look up the above scripture references in context and see what they say for yourself. I tend to think the most important of these references is John 3:16. Arguably, this is also the most famous verse of the whole New Testament, spoken by Jesus Himself. God the Father loves us. God sent his son to us in the person, Jesus, so we could learn what God is like and what God wants for us and from us. God wants us to be with Him for all eternity in Heaven. Trusting in Jesus is the door to that reality.
Get to know what Jesus was like, and what He said while he was on earth by reading the four biographies of his life: the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, in the New Testament of the Bible. Be ready for your trip to eternity. For more information, see also my comment on the poem, Eternal Spring.
