Ordinary Dust
I am
a creator, a critic,
a ponderer, a pontificator,
a producer, a procrastinator,
a romantic, a skeptic,
a socialite, a hermit,
a dreamer, a doubter,
a teacher, a student,
an artist and an analyst.
You too?
We are the ordinary dust of the world.¹
combined with a soul and life from
the very breath of God.¹
Each of us is finding, forging,
and forever reinventing
our reality.
Genesis 2:7

Isn’t it interesting that we are all similar in the big categories that define us as humans. If you aren’t mentally impaired, you can create, whether it’s a poem, a class curriculum, or a system for greater efficiency at work. Anyone can be any one of those things mentioned in the first verse. You think you aren’t an artist? Well, do you have an eye for home decorating? Or, dressing stylishly? Or, taking photos? Do you design products or write prose for a company? What makes us different is the myriads of ways we express and apply these God-given qualities to everyday situations.
Each person in this wide world is unique and important, yet “ordinary,” meaning like everyone else. We all have strengths and opportunities. Try to use your time and talents to improve your reality and that of others.
